French Bread Pizza
French bread loaf/loaves
Marinara sauce (bought or
home-made)
Traditional pizza toppings
to taste
Cheese, grated
Slice loaf or loaves, depending on
how many servings are desired,
horizontally. Spread marinara sauce
on open loaves. Then add pizza
toppings to taste: sausage, pepperoni,
mushrooms, peppers, onions,
etc. Top with cheese and broil in
pre-heated oven until cheese is
melted and bubbly.
FRENCH BREAD

1/2 of a 12-inch loaf French
baguette or ficelle
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black
pepper
Toppings to taste
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cut bread
into 1/4-inch round or oval slices and
place on a baking sheet. Brush 1 side of
each slice with the olive oil, and lightly
season with the salt and pepper. Bake for
8 minutes, or until light golden brown
and crispy. Remove from the oven and
cool slightly. Top with cheese, meat pastes
or chopped veggies.
FRENCH BREAD
SAUSAGE CHEESE BAKE
(Original Recipe: Winnie Pannell)
1 loaf French bread, cubed
1 pound sausage, browned and
drained well
1/4 cup green peppers, chopped small
1/4 cup onion, chopped very small
(may omit)
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated or cubed
6 eggs, beaten until blended
2 cups milk
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Preheat oven to 350°. Layer bread cubes
and cheese in 13x9x2” baking dish. Set
aside. Brown sausage, green peppers and
onion. Pour over bread cubes and cheese in
baking dish. Mix together eggs, milk and
cream of mushroom soup. Pour over contents
of baking dish. Bake at 350° for 45
min.-1 hr. or until done.Test doneness with
knife. 12 generous servings. Wonderful
with fresh fruit.
